Venice Day 3
It's raining. Luckily opposite my hotel there is a supermarket. I've bought an umbrella! Probably my 6th in capital cities around the world.
I roamed my way to the ferry heading for Burano. It is very gloomy but at least not much of her is getting wet.
i an constantly amazed by these blokes who cart stuff around. They go up and over the canals. They must be so fit!
packing up the boxes. I saw ticklish being collected. But office bags in huge wire crates. I was fascinated.
It's called Libreria Acqua Alta
"Cozy, offbeat bookstore featuring lots of vintage titles along with unique displays & resident cats."

there are lots of these so over Venice. The lids can't be opened. Often there's a tap. Maybe some kind of well?
Despite the rain it was lovely to walk around this place.
Then back on the ferry and another meander back to the hotel. I have been down so many alleys/lanes/roads. Sometimes I know I've been in one before. I do try to go didn't ways every time I go out.
One of the funniest things is the meeting of 2 people with umbrellas. There's not enough room to pass properly so one has to put the umbrella up high and the other low so they can pass each other.
After a shower, some washing and a bit of a rest I walked to the B stop Rialto to practice getting to the railway station. It was packed solid. Heaps of people got off at the Casino!!
Got off at the station then decided to walk back to the hotel via a drink or 2 and some dinner.
A man encouraged me into his restaurant, sat me down then disappeared to other customers even though I was trying to get his attention so I packed up and left ( had to come back later for my umbrella and nothing had changed on the table - still set with menus for me )
Then I found a table outside a bar with a nice vibe so had a glass of Prosecco. Then I moved on and found another place and had grilled fish for dinner. My 1st - sea bass and it was beautiful + 2 glasses Prosecco. A perfect evening.
Wow Franny looks amazing xx

ReplyDeleteThat fish looks delicious. Perfect and light, and a novel way to serve. I love the umbrella description. I can see it happening! Those carriers, so fit!
