Next Stop Como

One of the huge differences here in Europe had been my morning routine. No such thing as cups of tea!
this is my current kitchen. A pod coffee machine. I have no idea how to work out. There's never any milk. There's are some tea bags in there but without milk I just don't get the urge to have any.
So morning routine 'til I go out is water! Unless I go to a hotel that provides breakfast. Send a long time ago since I was in Athens. My 1st breakfast. I've had many more since then.
Out for coffee and a croissant and saw this lady. I reckon she's my age. Look closely.
This is the key to my apartment
these are the steps out of the Metro!
not sure why these military people are here.  It's near the Whispering place
the entrance to the grand shopping mall.
and this!
I bought my train ticket online. It only takes 37 mins. Then when I leave there to go to Lausanne I've got to come back here. Something I didn't realise. I had to do the same in Sofia - fly back to Istanbul.
Got on the right Metro to the Centrali then roamed until my platform number came up
It's a grand station.
i had a yearning for something to eat that wasn't pasta.
a chicken burger. Nothing Italian about it. I don't think over every had one from Burger King before. It was delicious.
this was the laneway from the station. It's and industrial area. Thank goodness for my small bag!!
I'm not sure what possessed me to book this, away from the main tourist area. It's the 1st time but I can walk and there are buses so I'll manage.
My room is very lovely and spacious so that's a definite plus. I even have a balcony.
My own balcony.
I went for a walk but apart from 2 major highways that converge there doesn't seem to be a lot else. I did find an ALDI.
that was exciting and I night more licorice whorls
And then to find something to eat and drink. Only one place open and no alcohol so I bought a takeaway kebab and am now devouring it at 5.30pm with Vodka to go with it.
i very that's a church up there!
oh that's near
my hotel. I wonder what the bulldozed!
interesting buildings
thank god for vodka!
my dinner.
I'm now planning for tomorrow. There's aircon here and it's set for 24°. I've only got a singlet and qantas pants in and I'm not. I'm too scared to muck around with it. Think how much electricity could be saved if everything was a little cooler!!!

  1. I like the way that they have those bamboo sticks as a kind of barrier between you and then next balcony. Clever. I love that you are eating kebabs and burger king! Over pasta clearly. Don't they do vegetables anywhere!!
