Leaving Italy for Lausanne

A slow breakfast and packing this morning. Didn't have to leave until 11.15.
I really like this room and the rest they have emailed photographs for the walls.
this one in the corridor outside my room.
and my green pouffe
This was the calm part of the day!
I walked to the station and there was a train coming going to Milano Cadorna. I asked a girl who spoke English if I should take that train or wait. She said it was fine to take it.
But of course it didn't go to Central Station and it took longer. I started to panic but couldn't do anything so enjoyed the view. The countryside is very pretty and I could see snow tired mountains. Pretty amazing.
fertile soil
look closely - there's snow in the distance.
In between the view I checked routes. I could get a metro from the station. 5 stops. So off the train I ran. I had to get a ticket from an Italian screen. A lovely women got my ticket. Then a lovely man directed me to the right platform. He was going on the same metro - he was a policeman!
I got off at Central then there's lots of up to the main station. I couldn't see my train on the board. Thankfully there's always someone to ask! Platform 4. I arrived with 5mins to spare but I made it!!
Stunning countryside. Security got in the train at the border but didn't check my passport. It seems it's a spot checks. A lady sitting next to me goes to Milan shopping because it's cheaper. An hr each way on the train.
interesting photo from my side!
almost got the whole bridge! The train goes so fast.
got that one!
It certainly is picture postcard scenery.
Markus meet me at the station
We went in the only Metro in Switzerland which is remotely driven. 2 very short trains then a short walk and a very steep driveway and we had arrived.
He is on the 4th floor having south east - so gets the sun so day. A spectacular view.
i couldn't help myself!
We had a traditional Swiss dinner and Markus cooked while I drank wine.
Sausage and potato cooked with onion and leek.
stayed up late. After 9pm!!

  1. I love travelling by train but making sure I’m on the right train can be stressful. You did better than I would have done!
