Laussane to London
Up early to catch the train. Markus drove me which was a nice treat. We both enjoyed my time there and he has now vowed to come to Australia.
The trip was good but if course some funny experiences
I was in end carriage and out my luggage behind my seat. I was sitting by the window so had lovely views of the landscape. The mountains are so beautiful.
At the border some border force people got on to check passports. I was a bit slow so they didn't check mine. They did question some blokes though. But they sat down again so all must have been ok.
We got to Paris on time. When I went to get my bags they weren't there. I absolutely freaked. Thank goodness for helpful people. I still don't understand how it happened but when I went to the dining car I came back to the wrong carriage. My luggage was in the next one. Neither of them had a walk through. Blizzard.
Then I had to navigate the underground. More helpful people. My backpack got stuck in the gate and sometimes had to let me out. Always a little drama!!!
Onto the Eurostar in premium economy. A ghastly meal but a small bottle of wine.
The kids met me at St Pancras. We wandered around for a while before the next train journey.
Very lovely to see them. Lots of catching up.
On Sunday Michael, the kids and I went to South Bank and the tide was out.
