Off to Venice
I was up at 5am and if course ready by 5.30.
I prefer to be early so went to the station. Down the underpass - steps of course! But at least an escalator on the other side.
First I had to get the train to Kelenfóld and then a bus to Tatabànya and then the train to Vienna. There's rail line works in between. Always the way!
Laszlo had rung to get all the information from the train line but when I went to the station to check they said that was all wrong! It did make it easier for me. So no metro line just the regular train.
The journey was very picturesque and there were lots of wind farms which I love.
And then the train stopped! Something wrong so off we got into another commuter train- with more steps - for the last of the journey.
At last we arrived at St Lucia station. 13hrs!!
By then it was raining. I had my raincoat. I now carry my pink backpack on the front, other backpack on the back and pull the bigger bag. It works well.
I had to find the water taxi - not as bad as I thought and got off at the right place. The next but read daunting. I don't know how many bridges I had to cross. Up steps and down steps each time and in the drizzle.
Thank goodness for Google maps. I found my way - one thing I didn't know was that the hotel is in 2 parts. A 4 star where you check in - a different name and my bit is around the corner in a lane. Of course no lift and 2 flights of stairs. The bloke carried my bag up so I only have to get it down!
And there was my room. It's small but cute with 2 windows out onto the lane. I had a shower and a vodka shot before bed.
