Off to Budapest

I didn't sleep well last night. Downloaded an e-sim for Hungary, read a book but kept reading up. Up at 6 to finish packing. Taxi at 7 for the airport. Checking in was fine but at the gate????
Everyone milling round. It's 9.15  and then flight leaves at 9.25 haha
it's there but we are still waiting!
And waiting.... Is now 9.35. I'm seated and it's 9.50.
I got an email yesterday regarding my seat which is paid for.
. It turns out the seat was broken 🤣
Another thing - there's 2 seats each side when the door is. I've never seen that before. I wouldn't like to be in those seats!!
The plane was delayed arriving so I had to race to the next gate to board. 850m away. Up an escalator, down another. Istanbul airport is huge. I made it.
Arrived in Budapest and was met by  Laszlo. And then to my sulbrious accommodation.
it does have a window that I can open. A very old building and I think the 4 flats here would have been just one in the day. It looks nearly renovated because the building seems a little dilapidated. The quaintest lift too.

I had a couple of hours rest then Laszlo picked me up and we walked. One of the first things we saw was a gathering of people with red balloons. They were attached to the same printouts of people missing in Israel that I saw on Sofia. Didn't think it appropriate to take a photo.
We went over to the Buda side up the furnicular to the castle. A beautiful view going up.
it's very steep!
what a lovely moon!
A lovely the wind that side then we had dinner at a Jamie Oliver's restaurant. I had soup of the day and Laszlo had pizza
which I had a treat if. I had champagne of course. A beer and a glass of wine for Laszlo.
When we'd had dinner out started to rain - heavily. Luckily Laszlo had an umbrella but we both got very wet. Luckily a drying rack for me at my house.
Home to bed - a long day! At least the bed was comfortable.
the building. I thought it was beautiful.
the glorious light fitting!
it's a very small space!
the lift. I remember these from when I was a kid.
the inside of the lift.
