Ios and Santorini

Woke up and caught a sunrise through our window.

We went to the most beautiful beach. Manganari. We were the only ones there. 

Found some lovely stones and shells.

There's a basketball court with power - all illegally done! Otherwise it was perfect.

We get ferried to and from the boat by rubber dinghy. The guys are really good fun. We did one speedboat trip just for fun. 

Gradually getting to know the people on the boat. Know faces but often forget names. 42 names is a lot to remember. People I spend time with is easy but the others...? We have a model! Different outfits everyday. Our resident dick - there's always one.  More on these later.

Then we went to Santorini!! What a place! It's beautiful. Steep cliffs with buildings on top. A chairlift but also a walkway to the top. Very windy with donkeys going up and down. Steep too.

On the day we arrived there were 4 cruise ships in. It was mayhem. We got up the cable car with no problem but to walk to where we were headed had to go through about a km of people waiting to go down. 5 deep!! They didn't leave us much room. 

We were taken to another less crowded. A little village called Fira which is a wine growing area. Here's grown differently better because if lack of rain. It's tasted good and we tried white, rose and sweet dessert wine plus dinner snacks. Then to Oia - don't seem to remember that place! We did have dinner on a terrace overlooking the harbour and watching the lights of the bloody ships. A lovely place too eat though. There was a lot of up and down and cobbles!
