Athens

I lost it all!!!
Now the abbreviation version. Hotel great. Breakfast on rooftop bar has a stunning view of the Acropolis. Good breakfast too.
I've walked for miles.
This was my 1st afternoon walk.
I meandered for hours. Laneways, lots of places to eat and drink. Buskers everywhere. Some good, some not.
It was to be a photo but it's doing strange things.

the Acropolis in the distance.

My first drink. Cute bar!
More walking before dinner. Clocked a lot of kms.
Found a nice place for dinner. Greek salad!
i was in bed but 8.30pm.
Wednesday up early for breakfast on the rooftop bar.
The view. Pretty stunning early in the morning
Then I was off walking. This time to the Botanic gardens, then some exploring. To the  Temple of the Olympian Zeus, then historical centre.
a precarious path to this house!
After my walk a well earned rest. Then found I couldn't pay. Only had my phone and it was cash. A woman paid for me. So very kind. And then a long walk down the hill. Lots of stray cats although I think they are fed.
I thought these were so cute. Little cat houses.
There's lots to watch and see. People. Cats. Ruins. No amount of photos do it justice. Things that I've noticed.
When you push the button to cross the road there's a timer. You wait only 60secs.
Cars can drive through the narrowest of streets.
Pedestrians have the right of way.
It's very clean and very cream. So much better for this climate.
There are ruins everywhere. I love that's it's so kept.
I went to the Acropolis museum. Am amazing building. Many artifacts.and more ruins. I want there a long time. I got the gist. 15€ I think, to get in.
More exploring today. It's Thurs I'm pretty sure.
I joined the group meeting at 6pm to find them already started. Then I found that there were 4 groups and I was at a later meeting. I went to the nearest bar and then was joined by another woman who turned it to be my room mate! She's younger than me (just turned 70)  but has been a children's neuro physio. We meet some of the group. There's 42 in all. A lot of names to remember. A few Americans, some English and Australian so far.
On Friday we were taken for a tour of the Acropolis. It was a fabulous walk to - dinner is I had seen before - many steps and slopes. (all good for fitness) It's is constantly being restored. Lots of scaffolding. A chequered history. So much to hear I stopped listening after a while.
our spunky tour guide!
We had dinner free time. My mate Just and I roamed until it was time to meet the group and take off for the port and find our boat.
The pretty of Attens is beautiful. Cleaner air, cooler because of the ocean. Our boat/ship is stunning. I'm on the top deck with Justine from Perth who knows Chris Lamont!! How's that for a coincidence?
not much room as you can see but our own bathroom.

Poseidon in the evening.
