Venice Day 2

I had an early start today. Breakfast at 8! I wanted help to book my ticket for the opera in Milan. There was a really helpful woman at the desk so down I went with my lovely new laptop which is now coming in very handy. I got the tickets. Up in the gods but I'm there for the spectacle. She even printed out the ticket.
Then I was off wandering again. I wanted to go to Murano Island so meandered to a stop that was more direct.
some is the canals and lanes are so narrow it's hard to believe that they are real streets as I wend my way around.
i have no idea what this is about but these "things"  are common.
the tide is extremely high with water lapping on the pavement.
i initially got in a ferry that went around the edge of the island then through the grand canal. It was worth to trip as it goes to the working part of Venice. I got it at the railway station then went to another ferry terminal to get to Murano. A roundabout was of getting there.
the water is quite rough and pulling into steps is very rough and ready and quick. There were a few big boats but no cruise ships thank goodness.
hardware!
i love the poppy one.
that is a street!
a cute bridge
Not a garage in sight.
then it was off to Murano Island
 Note the channel markers.
the blue dot is where I left from.
Murano Island. It certainly is on the tourist map. They're were lots of people mostly eating. Many many shops selling glassware off so kinds.
might need to enlarge photo to get the gist!
more classy I thought.
some very clever
this man was so clever playing music with glasses. I do have a video.
i liked it more when I found the canal.
all ready to go maybe.
and then there was more!
back on the boat.
and another walk
i think there was a hospital nearby but it was hard to tell. There were a number of these boats here.
and then I found this enormous Basilica
and this.
and this was for Mother Theresa - her picture was here. I have no idea why.
and then more lanes
and gardens
and dogs. There are lots here. A lot off them big!
and kitchen and bathroom shops.
I came home for a rest then went to the Rialto bridge. I've never seen anything like it. Hoards of people. All taking photos. Yes it's a very old bridge but there are so many other beautiful places to go. Luckily they don't go so  I have a peaceful time.
