The Dead Sea

This place is a must if you come to Jordan. I think it's on every trip plan
A truly amazing place. The Holiday Inn has the prime spot. And it is very very posh. A big, big place.
My room is palatial. Of course single beds but that's a small price to pay for such luxury.
i am jumping ahead though. We first went to Mt Nebo. Islam and Christianity are so closely linked here. This place was all about Moses who lived to be 120yrs old. I don't know my Bible so presume this is all true!!!
St George's Church we sat to. A lot rebuilt after an earthquake. There's a Byzantine mosaic depicting a map of the holy land!!
it's amazing accurate. The Jordan River, the Red Sea and Bernie that Jerusalem etc

The scenery along the way again breathtaking. The Jordan valley is the food bowl of Jordan. Very fertile with lots of water.

We could see Jerusalem from the Moses thing. So near yet so far.

  1. So much history and that church looks very sturdy - cool inside I bet.
